OTA - http://www.romancetravelconcierge.com

1/ http://www.romancetravelconcierge.com/

2/ This ATO targets wealthy people, mostly couples that are about to marry each other.

3/ Romancetravelconcierge.com sells romance trips for weddings, proposals, honeymoons… It mostly sells packages (flight + stays + activities+ event management…). The main service this ATO offers is to understand customer’s heart desire and considering this understanding to organise your perfect vacations.

4/ Romancetravelconcierge.com doesn’t have any booking engine. Considering the fact that their trademark is to understand and to feel clients’ desires they justify this way the fact that they can not have any booking engine just as expedia.com.

Also people can not comment the ATO’s products which seems to be a big disadvantage in our “socialized” business world.

This ATO’s offer is much more personalised which appears to be logical since it targets the luxury clientele.

5/ This ATO doesn’t seem to have overdeveloped its communication methods… The website seem to be a little bit old-fashioned and the main colour which is brown might not be the most attractive one. The trendy tools such as videos as not emphasized.
However, the website’s presentation is very clear and sober which from my point of view is very appropriate for that kind of luxury ATO. Pictures are attractive and there are even some videos which appear to be a very trendy tool.

6/ Here are Romancetravelconcierge.com’s partners:
Their partners are other abroad travel agencies and event or wedding planners.

Over the Rainbow - Sinatra

“What makes an excellent Hotel Website” is a crucial question. Nobody nowadays can launch or have a business without considering the fact that everything that happens in “real” world pass through the virtual world. Funny, huh? Is internet some kind of new unconscious? Milliards of people are connected and communicate this way. For years now we have been making appointments, taking information, looking for inspiration, even dating, sharing information, “LOLing”, advertising, convincing through internet…
So what’s about the business world? Definitely, since many things (not to say most of them, sadly or not) are about money, the most concerned by this progress is the business world! Still, the article defends the idea that not only a business such as a Hotel should have a website but it also implies that there is a rude competition among them. Since hotel websites are the first showcases for the customers this appears to be some kind of logical. So, the article lists six criterions that a hotel owner should “respect” in order to survive in this competition.
- Socializing
This is a surprising first standard considering the title of the article. As I read it, I thought of the fact that having a website isn’t something original anymore (just as speaking English in the business world). There are sooo many websites nowadays, that really; does it have to be “excellent” as entitles it the article?! Or shouldn’t we change the strategy and try to be as present as possible on internet? Does really it still have a sense to have a good website? (it costs money…)
Socializing… Ok then. Let’s concentrate on the fact of communicating with customers and keeping in touch with them. But once you are bound to your customers and your customers are bound among them, what is the next step?! Communications are a tough field, you can not communicate with some customer in order to make him buy and then just forget him…If we consider that, you won’t be able to put it on “pause” because you could harm the sensibility of your customer. So it is really a fulltime job. Humm… Is there some kind opportunity for me in terms of looking for a job?
- Functionality
This seems to be essentially a question of money: the more you invest the better your server will be and this is how you improve the functionality of your website. So the big question seems to be “how much do you want to invest in your virtual world?” Tough question here again, because it is hard to exactly know how much you earn on it.
- Multilingualism
Well, as internet breaks the frontiers and brings everyone together you still have to make “communities”. Well, actually it is obvious that the more you personalize your offer the more you communicate efficiently with your customers. And definitely, you’d better talk the same language as your customer, even in virtual world. Multilingualism… at the end, isn’t it about socializing once again?
- Ease of use
Not everyone is used to internet and meanwhile it is an inevitable tool whatever you do. So let’s make it as easy to use as possible. And to be easy you have to, as usual with internet, stimulate your interlocutors’ senses by making your website as intuitive as possible.
- Detailed Service
Internet is not some kind of superficial tool anymore. You definitely have to sell some real values. Not only you have to describe your services on your website but from my point of view, internet should be a specific place that offers more services than your Hotel: games, promotions, interactive tools… The customer not only needs to know your offer but also needs to feel your spirit and atmosphere.
- Choice of coulors
“Somewhere, over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I've heard of”
Franck Sinatra
Once again this is about to create a feeling for the customer. But we have to be very careful with trends. As “colour” trends change often, you can’t change your website every season or year. Though…could be nice! If you can afford it…

What makes an excellent Hotel Website?

There are numerous factors that will determine whether a hotel website is great. Such factors like simplicity of navigation, easy understandability of information and powerful functionality could all affect the user experience which in the end will be the deciding report card of the hotel website.

Visual Attraction

Customers will not go to a place where they have never seen before. Most of them are too busy to try anyway. In order to mentally prepare customers on what to expect and lure them to check into their hotel, they would need to look at their room, toilet, balcony etc.

Hotel Guarda Golf
Hotel Guarda Golf has a great gallery picturing all the different angles of their gorgeous hotel rooms, hence providing visitors an idea of how their room looks like.

Social, Social, Social

It seems like social media could never be neglected. Good reviews from satisfied customers could be very beneficial for the hotel business. Nowadays, social media and viral marketing have become so powerful that even celebrities are using them. Hotel guests could provide their feedbacks on their residential experience online. Guests could subscribe to the Hotel RSS feeds or follow them on popular social networks such as Twitter, to stay in touch with the latest promotion and updates.

MGM Grand
MGM Grand allows their visitors to get updates on popular social media like Twitter, Facebook or Youtube.

Functionality

The website has to load fast. While customers are busy scrolling through the images of the hotel room, they could be treated with some soothing music. All hotels needs an online booking system, it is like the brain on the human body. A powerful booking system will eventually bring their hotel into the next technological era too.

Atlantis The Palm
Beautiful large scrolling images without the need of reloading clearly increases a visitor visual experience. Atlantis also has a comprehensive online booking system.

Multilingual Websites

As hotel websites are usually catered to the international market, they need to understand that not all customers understand the same language. So it will be good if the website can be translated into multiple languages for a wider variety of customers without the need to exit the website.

Albert Hotel Riga
Albert Hotel Riga allows easy switching between different languages such as English, Russian and Latvian without leaving the site.

Ease of Use

Clear and simple navigation should be one of the priorities when it comes to hotel website design. It is the factor that could convert interested visitors into customers instead of frustrating them. Important information like, location, contact details and booking method should be readily visible to customers.

Grand Hotel Tremezzo
All information are listed neatly and prominently on the navigation bar. Grand Hotel Tremezzo website is a great joy to navigate around.

Detailed Service

Customers would like to know the type of services the hotel has installed for them, the hotel policies and about us page. Content should be in detail with appropriate and readable font size. The information should also not be misleading or hidden to prevent any empty promises.

Capella Singapore
Capella Singapore is a six star hotel that has various number of activities, spa and dining options listed on the site for their visitors to check them out.

Choice of Colors

Hotels tend to select colors that are warm and sensual to the human being. They like to create a homely and comfortable feeling for their customers. That is why you often see hotel website designs are in certain colors like, white, blue, black or green. White is associated with elegance and pureness, while blue gives off sensual and relaxing feeling. Black meanwhile gives customers mysterious and bedtime thoughts and green gives them a natural and refreshing experience.

Hotel Missoni
Hotel Missoni presents an unique idea with a very different concept of hotel website design using an excellent mixture of colors.
