  1. This article is amazing! I mean it! Not only because it expresses a really interesting point of view, not only because I agree with the author, not only because it interests me as a future marketer but also because it concerns every internet user and especially business owners! Agree or not, everything has been about marketing for more than ten years now. What is fun is that marketing is actually a quite new field! And still, it has been probably one of the most evolving and challenging ones.

This article might frighten many people, especially marketers that have been on the market for those past years ; the author kind of says that traditional marketing is dead, and if not the entire marketing, the funniest parts of the job certainly are! Now, marketing happens more and more behind the screen and marketers have to adapt again and again! What about the fun part of the communications? Chatting with other marketers, sharing meals pretending discussing work, spending worktime bound to the blackberry… This is the end of all of that: now it’s all about real work! Moreover, the work gets more and more ungrateful: your own work won’t be able to be recognised since everything is about connect people between so they can share, criticise, create together… the marketer seems to get more and more hidden in the shadow of its clients… end of the golden age? :-)

From my point of view, this change is quite exciting because marketing seem to become more interactive (and attractive!) and if all this “virtual insanity” (Yep! Jamiroquai once again) seems boring to some people now, it is probably because they don’t understand the importance of the virtual communications yet. I also might add, that what brings me most of the fun if actually binding and connecting people! I can’t wait the moment I’ll be looking for a job and find opportunities in those new fields…
